THE COMPLETE UPDATE

This entry describes the current 2.0.0 build. The platform tools below accumulated during earlier 1.x development; they were not all first introduced in 2.0.0.

Your original privacy controls stay free. Pro is an optional upgrade for additional platforms and tools. Choose the features you want in the new dashboard.

Current 2.0.0 changes

  • Licensing V2: Gumroad purchase verification through the Stay Unseen API, signed expiring entitlements, refresh credentials, up to three active browser installations and Release this device. A migration path remains for eligible legacy purchases.
  • Improved local Pro licence checks across Chrome, Edge and Firefox. Existing valid activations are preserved, with no new purchase or reactivation needed for this change.
  • Inline runtime-health indicators beside dashboard features, with local reasons available on hover, focus or click. Required content scripts, page hooks, build versions, tabs and network components are checked locally.
  • A dedicated public Status page reads published manual compatibility records. Verification dates remain separate from local runtime health and activity counters.
  • WhatsApp Mark Seen uses the selected conversation’s native receipt action and reports its observed result. Sender-visible receipts still depend on WhatsApp’s own privacy settings.
  • Threads follow status distinguishes explicit followers/non-followers from unavailable data, with a rounded badge after the username. Instagram positions its badge below the follow control.
  • The Ghost Pill provides site-specific quick controls, keyboard navigation and a way to disable Screen Privacy while the page is blurred. Mark Seen reserves space above supported chat composers.

Your original privacy controls stay free

  • Instagram: hide story and reel views, block DM read receipts, and hide typing indicators.
  • Facebook and Messenger: hide Facebook story views, block read receipts, and hide typing indicators.
  • Keep native unread markers where the site supports them.

The dashboard

  • A full-page dashboard replaces the small toolbar popup, with controls grouped by platform and feature.
  • See local activity totals, recent blocks, 24-hour and 7-day charts, and clearer protection status.
  • Pause protection for 15 minutes, 1 hour or 24 hours, then resume automatically or whenever you choose.

Optional Lifetime Pro

  • One purchase unlocks Pro on up to three browser installations. Activate with your licence key and release a device when moving. Pro uses Gumroad purchases and Stay Unseen’s licensing API. Signed access is checked locally and refreshed online; it is not permanent offline activation.
  • WhatsApp Web: block blue ticks, hide typing and recording indicators, and hide status views.
  • Threads: control presence, seen status and typing on both threads.com and threads.net.
  • Download supported Instagram and Facebook videos, reels and story photos or videos, plus available voice notes in Instagram, Facebook and Messenger chats.
  • Download TikTok videos using watermark-free playback media when available. Photo slideshows and watermarks added by the uploader are not supported.
  • See whether an Instagram, Threads or TikTok profile follows you, with clearer results and retry options when a relationship cannot be checked.
  • Use Mark Seen in supported Instagram, Facebook, Messenger and WhatsApp Web chats to send a read receipt when you choose.
  • Use the floating status pill on all six platforms to open site-specific tools, check status, open the dashboard or hide the pill. Privacy sites also offer pause and resume. Restore the pill from the dashboard.
  • Focus mode hides supported Instagram, Facebook and Threads feeds while keeping messaging available.
  • Screen privacy blurs and locks Instagram, Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp Web and Threads pages. The status pill stays usable so you can turn privacy off.
  • Queue supported Instagram, Facebook and TikTok media downloads, with pause, resume, cancel and retry controls. Organize queued files into platform and date folders.

Fixes and improvements

  • Improved blocking and unread markers for current social-site layouts while preserving normal chat loading and message sending.
  • Mark Seen stays above the active chat composer without covering reader avatars or appearing in Facebook media comments.
  • Media buttons stay attached to the right video or story as pages change, with clearer download status and retry messages.
  • The status pill has keyboard controls, clearer Active, Partial, Off and Paused states, and settings that carry across supported tabs in the same browser profile. TikTok shows tool status.
  • Local diagnostics no longer capture raw request bodies. The public dashboard is simpler, with the technical diagnostics drawer omitted from store versions.

After updating

  • Keep your existing installation and extension data when updating; valid Pro activations carry over.
  • Reload your open social tabs. Your browser may ask you to approve access for the added websites and media downloads.
  • Focus mode, screen privacy and the download queue are optional and start off. Core Instagram, Facebook and Messenger privacy does not require a Pro key.

  • Removed the extra red dot on stories and chats. Native unread indicators remain: the unseen-story ring on Instagram and Facebook, and bold unread conversation names on Instagram, Facebook and Messenger.
